Back to our roots. The MAGDAS Hotel Vienna Prater.
Anyone familiar with the history of MAGDAS Hotel knows: It all began at the Prater! From 2015 to 2022, we welcomed our very first guests from all over the world here. Now we’re returning to our roots—and doing so in a truly sustainable way. Instead of simply tearing it down, we’re currently transforming the former senior living facility from the 1970s into a youthful, green, and all-around awesome city hotel.
Our motto: Preserve the essence and reinterpret it. We’ll simply double down on what’s already working so well at the MAGDAS Hotel Vienna City: We’re creating even more fair jobs for people who face barriers in the job market and connecting them with guests from all over the world.
Here’s what you can look forward to at the new Prater-Haus.
Renovate, don’t tear down
The original building structure will be preserved, while the interior will be completely redesigned with a colorful and modern aesthetic.
Renewable Energy
We use groundwater for heating and cooling. Together with our rooftop solar array, this allows us to save 372 metric tons of CO₂ annually.

We are extremely proud of our score of 978 out of 1,000 points—the highest distinction for climate-conscious construction in urban areas.
